    1959

    Walter Nelson purchases Armstrong Motors.

    March 9th, 1959, Nelson Motors and Equipment officially opens in downtown
    Avonlea, Saskatchewan. Sold John Deere equipment and GM vehicles.

    1976

    Business moved location / Stakeholder change

    New, larger agriculture equipment set the stage to build a new 20,000 sq. ft. facility on the east side of Avonlea. Stakeholder changes and the business incorporated with Walter Nelson, Gary Nelson, Bill Nelson, Jim Tyndall and Robert Kitchen.

    Recognition by John Deere

    John Deere announced Nelson Motors and Equipment as the top 15 dealers in Canada. (Presidents Club)

    1986

    Recognition by John Deere

    John Deere announced Nelson Motors and Equipment as number 1 in combine sales in Canada.

    1996

    1999

    Radville location opens

    Expanded to the town of Radville to broaden the trading area and fill a market gap

    2001

    Business form to differentiate product lines

    Nelson GM is formed to focus on product lines and better serve customers.

    2003 & 2004

    John Deere announced Nelson Motors and Equipment as the top 15 dealers in Canada. (Managers Club)

    2005

    Stakeholder Change

    Gary Nelson, Jaret Nelson, Marlyn Stevens, Terri Stevens, Bill Nelson and Janet Day.

    2007

    Expansion into Estevan and Redvers

    Nelson Motors and Equipment purchases Prosper Tractor and claims more of the southeast.

    2008

    John Deere announced Nelson Motors and Equipment as the top 15 dealers in Canada. (Managers Club)

    2008

    Expansion into Oxbow

    Nelson Motors and Equipment purchases Kosior Tractor and claims most of the southeast portions of Saskatchewan.

    2009

    50 year celebration

    Nelson Motors and Equipment celebrates its 50th year in business with customers and the community at the Avonlea Community Centre with dinner, dance and entertainment.

    2011

    Redvers store gets new building

    Nelson Motors and Equipment moves into Redvers's newly designed shop and storefront space.

    2015

    Avonlea store gets new building

    Nelson Motors and Equipment moves into Avonlea’s newly designed shop and storefront space.

    2018

    Estevan store gets new building

    Nelson Motors and Equipment moves into Estevan’s newly designed shop and storefront space.

    2023

    Radville starts construction of new store

    Nelson Motors and Equipment begins build of a newly designed shop and storefront space in Radville.
